Every time you wish to send a survey out, whether you’re starting from scratch or sending it out to more customers, you’ll need to import your contacts. 

 

In The One Question Platform, there are three ways of importing contacts; by CSV file, by copy and paste or by adding existing contacts you’ve imported into your instance.

 

Import a CSV file of contacts

 

When you’re on the ‘Contacts’ stage of the Survey Wizard, you’ll be asked to create a ‘Recipients group name’.

 

Once you’ve entered your recipient’s group name click ‘Save’.

 

 

You’ll see three buttons: ‘CSV file’, ‘Copy and paste’ and ‘Existing contacts’.

 

Click ‘Import CSV file’

 

 

Drag and drop your CSV file.

 

Alternatively, click on the blue button to find and upload your CSV file.

 

 

After you’ve selected your file, you’ll need to map your fields. This is a simple step that ensures that your data is being stored inside the platform correctly.

 

All you have to do is match the names of the fields in your CSV file to the names of the fields in the platform. For example; if you have a field in your file named ‘Email addresses’, match this up with the ‘Email Address’ field in the platform.

 

 

Once you’ve done that, click ‘Import’ at the bottom and a confirmation message will appear to let you know that your contacts have been imported.

 

 

Copy and paste contacts

 

If you’d prefer to copy and paste your contacts in, click on the ‘Copy and paste’ button on the ‘Survey Contacts’ stage of the Survey Wizard.

 

Note: When copying and pasting your contacts into your surveys, you can only import email addresses.

 

 

You’ll see a text box where you can paste or type in your contacts. 

 

Find your list of email addresses and highlight them. Right click on your mouse and select ‘Copy’.

 

 

Back in the platform, right click on your mouse again and select ‘Paste’ in the text box. 

 

Note: when copying and pasting contacts in, you can only import email addresses. You won’t be able to import their names or phone numbers.

 

 

Once you’ve pasted in all of your email addresses, click ‘Import’ and A confirmation message will appear to let you know that your contacts have been imported.

 

 

Existing contacts

 

If you have already imported contacts to your instance you can add these to your survey by clicking ‘Existing contacts’.

 

 

You can select your contacts to add to your survey and don’t forget you can select more than one at a time.

 

 

Once you have selected your contacts click ‘Add to survey’.

 

 

A confirmation message will appear to let you know that your contacts have been imported.

 

 

You’re now ready to move on to the next stage!
