What is GDPR? 

 

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a legal framework that sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals within the European Union.

 

At The One Question, we’ve worked hard to prepare for GDPR. We want to ensure that we are fully compliant with all obligations and maintain our transparency about customer messaging and how we use their data.

 

What is the Right to Erasure?

 

The right to erasure also known as the right to be forgotten, it gives the individual the right to have their personal data erased. The One Question allows you to permanently delete your contacts from your account.

 

How do I erase my customers’ data?

 

Click ‘Account settings’ from the dropdown in the top right corner of your account.

 

 

Now you’re on the settings page.

 

On the left-hand side, click ‘GDPR’. This is where you will find all actions relating to GDPR.

 

 

Now you can use the search bar to enter the customer’s email address.

 

 

All of the customer’s information will appear underneath, you will be able to see:

 

  • Email address
  • Name
  • The amount of feedback they have responded with across all instances they appear in 
  • The number of conversations you have had with the contact across all instances they appear in 
  • And what instances they belong to

 

To erase the customer’s data click ‘Delete contact’.

 

You can only delete one contact at a time. So for more than one request, you will need to repeat this action with the other email address.

 

 

And that is it the customers’ data will now be permanently deleted from all instances they appeared in and will now appear as ‘Contact Deleted’ in your account. You will also no longer be able to complete any actions with them, and they will have no record in the system.

 

Note that if you upload the customer’s email address or if they were to submit feedback via another input type then they will enter the system again.
